Founded in 1959 Carrollwood received its name from Lake Carroll, which is famously named after Charles Carroll, the last surviving signer of the Declaration of Independence. Take in Carrollwood’s most popular activity, golfing, on courses such as Babe Zaharias Golf Course or Village Gold and Tennis Club followed by fishing off a pontoon and spending the evening watching the sunset.

Known for its close proximity, Carrollwood’s residents have excess to many of Tampa’s most dazzling entertainment options such as The St. Pete Times Forum, The Florida Aquarium, The Straz Center, Busch Gardens, Disney World, Universal Studios, and Sea World.

Carrollwood’s easy access to I-275, The Veterans Expressway, Dale Mabry Highway, Fletcher Avenue, Busch Boulevard, Gunn Highway, and Bearss Avenue allow for efficient travel to and from Downtown Tampa, Clearwater, St. Petersburg, and Orlando.
